Workers Rescued from 12-Storey Hotel Construction Fire in Antalya – Latest News from Turkey

A fire broke out in the construction of a 12-storey hotel in Alanya district of Antalya, causing panic and concern for those in the vicinity. The incident took place at around 17:00, in a hotel construction on Kerim Ertekin Street in Cikcilli District, where the fire started on the lower floors of the building and quickly spread.

Firefighters from Alanya, Manavgat, and Gazipaşa districts rushed to the scene to extinguish the flames and rescue those trapped inside. Thanks to their heroic efforts, 4 workers were saved from the fire. Alanya Mayor Osman Tarık Özçelik confirmed that there were no casualties in this terrifying incident.

Despite the intensity of the fire, there was no immediate threat of it spreading to neighboring buildings. Özçelik reassured the public that 9 out of the 13 workers who were in the building at the time of the fire were rescued using freight elevators, while the remaining 4 were brought to safety by the fire brigade.

Thanks to the swift response of the local fire brigade, the fire was successfully extinguished, bringing relief to the residents and workers in the area. An investigation is underway to determine the cause of the fire and prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future.
