Ali Murat Başçeri appointed as Ambassador of Nicosia for Turkey – BRTK
Ali Murat Başçeri has been appointed as the new Ambassador of Nicosia of the Republic of Türkiye. This decision was made by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and published in the Official Gazette.
In the Presidential Decree, it was stated that Ambassador Yasin Ekrem Serim was being transferred to a different position, and Ali Murat Başçeri, who previously served as the Turkish Ambassador to Nicosia between November 1, 2018, and November 23, 2022, would be taking over the role.
Ali Murat Başçeri is a familiar name in Cyprus and brings a wealth of experience to his new position. With his background as the General Manager of Consulate Services and General Manager of Citizens living in Turkey, Başçeri is well-equipped to handle the responsibilities of being an Ambassador.
This appointment marks a new chapter in Türkiye’s diplomatic relations with Nicosia, and it is expected that Ali Murat Başçeri will continue to strengthen the bond between the two nations. We wish him the best of luck in his new role.
