Enner Valencia takes new route to Brazil: International Stop
Ecuadorian footballer, Valencia, is all set to bid adieu to his current club and move to Internacional for the upcoming season. According to reports by TRT Spor, the transfer will take place in July once the current season culminates.
Valencia has been the shining star of the Super League, having managed to score an astounding 27 goals till date. Such is his contribution to his current team that no other player even comes close to him – the second highest scorer in the league being Borini from Karagümrük with just 10 goals to his name.
Valencia’s career trajectory has seen him play for clubs like Wigan Athletic and Everton in the past. But his time in the Super League saw him move from Akhisarspor to Fenerbahçe in 2019. Ever since, he has been an integral part of the Fenerbahçe squad and has managed to become the top scorer of the league in just a single season.
Internacional, on the other hand, is a professional Brazilian football club based out of Porto Alegre. It was founded in 1909 and has since then won several titles, including 3 Copa Libertadores, 2 FIFA Club World Cup titles amongst others. The club competes in the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A – the top-tier football league in Brazil. Valencia’s addition to the squad will definitely bolster Internacional’s attack and add to their already impressive record.
