KazAID and Astana Medical University Launch Annual Healthcare Program for Central Asian Students
Kazakhstan Agency of International Development (KazAID) and Astana Medical University Collaborate on Avicenna Healthcare Program
The Kazakhstan Agency of International Development (KazAID) and the Astana Medical University have reached an agreement to organize the Avicenna healthcare program for medical students from Central Asian countries on an annual basis. This decision was made to enhance the quality and accessibility of medical education in the region.
The Avicenna program will now be expanded to include new areas of study, providing a wider range of topics to address in the field of medicine. This update was announced by KazAID on July 30, signaling a positive step towards improving healthcare education in Central Asia.
The inaugural Avicenna program, which took place in April-May, saw the participation of seventeen students from the Kyrgyz Republic and Tajikistan. These students underwent two-week courses at the Astana Medical University, gaining valuable insights and experiences in the medical field. Additionally, a cultural program was included to allow participants to explore the sights of Astana and immerse themselves in the local culture.
With the success of the first Avicenna program, the collaboration between KazAID and Astana Medical University is set to benefit even more students from Central Asia in the coming years. This initiative highlights the commitment to enhancing medical education and promoting healthcare advancements in the region.
