Bishkek – The Parliament of Kyrgyzstan recently adopted the report of the Accounts Chamber for the year 2022, shedding light on various financial violations.
According to the results of the audit activities conducted last year, the Accounts Chamber identified irregularities in financial discipline amounting to 46.101 billion soms, along with 404 procedural violations. Out of the total amount of detected violations, approximately 15.544 billion soms are subject to compensation, with 7.174 billion soms having already been settled.
Among the revealed violations, the field of public procurement accounted for a significant share, with a total amount of 1.662 billion soms. Approximately 534.6 million soms fall into the category of compensation, of which about 174.7 million soms have already been reimbursed.
In light of these findings, the Accounts Chamber has forwarded 89 audit materials to law enforcement agencies, involving 14.9 billion soms, $84,000, and €927,500.
The report highlights the government’s commitment to ensuring financial transparency and accountability. By uncovering and addressing these violations, the Accounts Chamber plays a crucial role in maintaining financial discipline within the country. It acts as an independent oversight body responsible for monitoring the proper utilization of public funds.
