Kyrgyzstan Receives 245 Purebred Horses in Recent Importation
As of March 2025, Kyrgyzstan has welcomed at least 245 purebred horses into the country. This initiative is part of a larger effort to increase livestock productivity and enhance the genetic potential of local breeds.
According to the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry of Kyrgyzstan, around 800-900 purebred horses are imported from European countries and the United States annually. This practice aims to improve the overall quality of the local livestock and boost its productivity.
The ministry’s press service highlighted the significant impact of importing purebred horses on the enhancement of breed qualities and genetic potential in Kyrgyzstan. Specialists are actively engaged in evaluating the breeding value of these imported horses to ensure their contribution to the country’s livestock industry.
