Kyrgyzstani Belek Barakanov takes 2nd place at World Sambo Championships

Kyrgyzstani athlete Belek Barakanov has achieved an impressive second-place finish at the World Sambo Championships held in Armenia. The International Sambo Federation reported that Barakanov competed in the weight category up to 64 kilograms, where he secured victories over athletes from Tajikistan, the USA, Italy, and Mongolia. However, he ultimately lost to Vladimir Leontyev from Russia in the final match.
Despite this setback, Barakanov’s performance has garnered praise and attention, showcasing his skill and potential in the sport of sambo. Kyrgyzstanis are eagerly awaiting his continued participation in the championships as he and his teammates strive for additional medals.
