Turkish Escobar Suffers Another Setback
Turkish police deal blow to criminal organization led by “Turkish Escobar”
Ürfi Çetinkaya, also known as the “Turkish Escobar”, and his sons have been caught in a recent operation carried out by Istanbul Police. The criminal organization led by Çetinkaya was responsible for the seizure of 37 tons of drugs, and it was found that they were involved in money laundering and international drug trafficking.
Cooperating with 11 different countries, the police arrested a total of 44 people, including Çetinkaya’s sons, Rüstem and Hakan. Despite their attempts to hide their ill-gotten gains through watches, money, and gold, the police seized approximately 20 billion lira worth of assets belonging to the suspects.
The gang of Turkish Escobar, once considered untouchable, has been dealt blow after blow as law enforcement agencies crack down on their illegal activities. The seized gold, weapons, and money were put on display at the police station as evidence of the gang’s criminal activities.
The arrest of Ürfi Çetinkaya and his sons marks a significant milestone in the fight against organized crime in Turkey. The police have vowed to continue their efforts to dismantle criminal organizations and bring their leaders to justice.
