Western Leaders Show Support for Ukraine on Second Anniversary of Russian Attacks
On the second anniversary of Russia’s large-scale attacks on Ukraine, Western leaders made their way to Kiev to show their support for the country. Prime Ministers Giorgia Meloni of Italy, Justin Trudeau of Canada, and Alexander De Croo of Belgium, along with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, traveled to Ukraine via Poland on a night train.
Giorgia Meloni is set to host a video conference from Kiev later in the day, which will be attended by leaders of the Seven Great Democracy Groups. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has been invited to participate in the conference as well.
The visit by these Western leaders sends a strong message of solidarity and support for Ukraine in the face of Russian aggression. As tensions continue to escalate in the region, it is crucial for the international community to stand united in support of Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
