BREAKING: Cyber Security Law proposal passed in Turkish Parliament
The Turkish Grand National Assembly has recently accepted and enacted the Cyber Security Law proposal, marking a significant step towards enhancing cyber security in the country.
The proposal includes the establishment of the Cyber Security Council and sets a general framework for the scope of the law. It will cover public institutions and organizations, professional organizations, as well as individuals and entities operating in cyberspace.
Notably, the Police Law on Duties and Responsibilities, Gendarmerie Organization Law, and laws related to intelligence activities are excluded from the scope of the Cyber Security Law.

The new law also emphasizes the importance of using domestic and national products to enhance cyber security. Public institutions, organizations, and individuals will be required to take necessary measures to prevent or mitigate the impact of cyber attacks, in line with cyber security policies and strategies.
The Cyber Security Presidency will play a crucial role in these efforts, working to increase cyber resilience of critical infrastructures and information systems, detect and prevent cyber attacks, and minimize their effects.
