A Tragic Accident Claims a Life in Şanlıurfa
A tragic accident took place in the volunteer neighborhood of the district in the evening hours recently. Necati Er and Bakır Karataş were working to dismantle the factory roof by getting on a crane when disaster struck. The crane broke off from its weld, causing the two men to fall from a height of 10 meters onto the concrete floor.
Despite the quick response from those who witnessed the accident and reported it to the 112 Emergency Call Center, Necati Er lost his life at the scene. Bakır Karataş, who was seriously injured in the fall, was rushed to Viranşehir State Hospital for medical treatment.
The unfortunate incident occurred on May 1, Labor and Solidarity Day, adding to the sorrow of the day. Necati Er’s funeral was held and his body was taken to the Şanlıurfa Forensic Medicine Institute Morgue. The gendarmerie has launched an investigation into the accident to determine the cause of the crane malfunction.
