Junda Oil Refinery Fined for Air Emissions Violations

The Junda oil refinery in Kyrgyzstan has been fined for emissions into the atmosphere, according to a report from the Ministry of Natural Resources. Inspectors from the Chui regional department of the Environmental and Technical Supervision Service conducted an unscheduled inspection of China Petrol Company Junda LLC from May 28 to May 30, following a complaint from a resident of Novo-Nikolaevka village.

The inspection revealed violations, including emissions of pollutants from stationary sources of pollution at the oil refinery. The refinery had been operating in test mode since May 25, and was found to require maintenance and repair work on various units and valves.

As a result of the inspection, a violation report was issued and a penalty of 28,000 soms was imposed on the refinery. The Ministry of Natural Resources also issued an order for the refinery to eliminate the detected violations in accordance with Article 230 of the Code of Offences.

The fine serves as a reminder to companies to adhere to environmental regulations and take necessary measures to prevent air pollution. Authorities will continue to monitor and enforce compliance with environmental laws to protect the health and well-being of the community.
